Foreword:

This page is intended to cover our most important rules, while remaining as short and simple as possible. See subrule pages for specific and detailed rulings and precedents. All rules and their nuances are ultimately at the discretion of admin interpretation. Many rules can have exceptions granted by admins; just ahelp and ask us!

The guiding principle behind our rules is respecting the consent and comfort of others.

Primary Rules:

1. General behavior: Be civil, polite, and respectful. Don't make other people uncomfortable. Don't harass people. Don't be an asshole. Don't self antag. Don't be abrasive, toxic, or harmful to other people without prior consent. Know your audience. Constructively communicating in OOC channels is encouraged, but don't use OOC channels to vent frustration.

2. Roleplay: Collaborate with others and enable cooperative storytelling whenever possible. Play a character that acts in a believable way for someone working on space station. Death and injury shouldn't be treated casually. Continuity is appreciated but not required; you decide your own canon.

3. Gameplay: Do the job you signed up for. Don't do other people's jobs when avoidable.

4. High Expectation Roles: Command, Security, and Dignitaries must follow their SOP and Space Law. Their roleplay and gameplay are held to a higher standard.

5. Antagonists: You do not have to do your objectives, but harmful antagonist activity must contribute to your objective in a meaningful way. Do not cause random chaos and harm. Avoid unnecessary collateral. Do not end the round early as a crew antagonist. Do not call or recall the shuttle. Follow your SOP.

6. NSFW Roleplay: NSFW content is allowed on Den but is not our focus. Informed prior consent is mandatory for discussing NSFW topics and being involved in NSFW scenes.
