Command Revolt

From The Den Wiki
Revision as of 00:53, 20 April 2025 by Kawaii Douchebag (talk | contribs) (Added rules for a Hostile Command Revolt)

Peaceful Command Revolt

A peaceful revolt should be the beginning and end of any revolt. It should follow the below steps

  1. Any and all command members in revolt are to send their intentions to Central Command via a communally stamped/signed fax or the red phone (AHelp).
  2. With central command's consent, the command member leading the revolt is made the XO.
  3. All members of command who are not detained are to initiate a majority vote.
    1. If the vote passes, the CO must relinquish or be stripped of all sensitive materials, demoted, and be provided an appropriate ID/PDA according to their new role, as well as clothing/equipment relevant to the job. The XO is then given all sensitive materials and takes command as the new CO.
    2. If the vote fails, any crimes are to be reported to security, and all dissenting command members are to return to their duties.
  4. The shift returns to normal as according to Standard Operating Procedures and Command Hierarchy.
  5. If, for any reason, the above steps are not sufficient for all members of command, these concerns are to be brought to the Nanotrasen Representative or to Central Command directly. The members of command are then to await further advice. Nanotrasen representatives and Central Commanders should take care in listening to these concerns, as an unsatisfactory resolution risks devolving into a Hostile Command Revolt.
  6. Any command members continuing to revolt after this point are guilty of Sedition as written in Space Law.

Hostile Command Revolt

The purpose of a Hostile Command Revolt is to enforce a Peaceful Command Revolt upon an unjust CO and their defenders. From this point on, the CO and their defenders will be referred to simply as "The Old Command", and the XO and their defenders will be referred to as "Revolutionaries" If it is deemed that a Peaceful Command Revolt cannot be concluded with the below advice, individuals are encouraged to act in a manner that hastens a Peaceful Command Revolt while ensuring minimal collateral of innocents.

Security's Role in a Revolt

Security's duty is to ensure the revolt ends as soon as possible via a Peaceful Command Revolt. The specifics of how this works will depend on whether the command member in charge of security sides with Command or the Revolutionaries. It is worth noting that security are expected to side with Revolutionaries in cases where Command have committed sufficient crimes according to Space Law

Security as The Old Command

Security, when operating as The Old Command, are to detain any Revolutionaries and enforce the results of a Peaceful Command Revolt. Afterwards, they should, as always, continue to enforce Space Law. It worth noting that only individuals in charge of the Revolutionary departments are innately guilty of Sedition, not necessarily their subordinates.

Security as Revolutionaries

Security, when operating as Revolutionaries, are to detain any members of The Old Command until a Peaceful Command Revolt can be completed. Once completed, the new security department should enforce Space Law. It worth noting that only individuals in charge of The Old Command's departments are innately guilty of Sedition, not necessarily their subordinates.

Medical's Role in a Revolt

Medical's role in a revolt is to preserve life as much as possible. Their job, regardless of position in the Revolt, is to heal allied individuals and neutral parties Medical professionals should ensure detainment of then revive and heal any opponents when possible. If detainment and revival of opponents is not possible, they are to remain in the morgue or bodybags until they can be. Medical Professionals may be called on to evaluate the fitness of opponents during or after the revolt. Medical staff are to follow their Medical Operating Procedures, and remain professional and as unbiased as possible. In cases where it is necessary, Medical Professionals are permitted to provide and deploy chemicals necessary to assist in the enforcement of a Peaceful Command Revolt as long as minimal unnecessary harm is allowed.

Epistemics' Role in a Revolt

Epistemics' role in a revolution is to ensure any of their allies have access to countermeasures for Psionics as necessary, and to develop and deploy or withhold technologies to assist their side until a Peaceful Command Revolt is completed.

Engineering's Role in a Revolt

Engineering's role in a Revolt is to ensure power and airflow remains stable and secure for their allies, as well as ensuring any dangerous locations such as the Gravitational/Tesla Singularities, Supermatter generators, Thermoelectric Generators, and Atmospherics remain inaccessible to opponents. Engineers are advised to refrain from atmospheric intervention of opponent's departments unless it has been cleared with Central Command via a fax or the red phone (Ahelp) and innocent collateral damage is minimized.

Justice's Role in a Revolt

Justices are to ensure their allies are not straying from Space Law unnecessarily during a revolt, as well as ensuring any crimes committed are properly persecuted according to Space law once the Revolt completes.

Logistics' Role in a Revolt

Logistic technicians are to ensure their allies and neutral parties are properly supplied during the revolt, taking into account the severity of the revolt in question.

Service's Role in a Revolt

Service's role in a revolt is to ensure a proper flow of information to their allies, as well as to help to gauge popular sentiment should it become necessary. Service members are also encouraged to shelter any innocent bystanders until the revolt is completed.

Silicon's Role

Borgs are to work according to their laws under their designated department unless told otherwise by the AI. In which case, they must continue following their laws, except following the orders of the AI. Borgs with a generic hull are to work under AI's command within their laws, working to minimize damage to innocents. An AI may be called upon to assist in a revolt. They are encouraged to take the route that minimizes damage to innocents.
