The Thief antagonist is one that gives plenty of freedom for you to do as you please. Given that freedom, it has become more than apparent that people like to be overly problematic, choosing to do things that are fun for only them and no one else. As a result, we have created the Thief SOP to highlight the things you cannot do in explicit detail.

The Limitations

General limitations that apply to every thief is as follows:

  • You may only steal one thing, as well as the essentials that are absolutely required to make it happen. Make it a good one.
    • The thing of choice will be defined as "the target" within this SOP.
  • Your goal is to sate your kleptomaniac tendencies, not get put in prison for longer than you need to.
    • Avoid harming others at all costs.
      • Even in supposed self-defense, use any other tactics available to you to avoid Security stacking charges.
    • Avoid unnecessary crimes that could lead to a longer arrest.
  • You should never be doing any permanent station damage, including removing entire parts of the station or making a role unplayable.
    • You may steal the AI at the end of the round when evac has arrived, but no sooner.
  • The target should not be easily accessible. You want a big heist, not some easy target.
    • For example, you should not be stealing the target from cryosleep or the HoS office when there's no HoS.
  • The target should not be absolutely required for certain modes or the progression of a department.
    • You want something big, but not so big that Central Command will be after you for life, and definitely not something that annoys the crew enough to send them after you.
    • To be specific: do not steal the nuke, do not steal the cargo or salvage shuttle, do not steal an entire department, et cetera.
    • If you are unsure if it's too far, ahelp and ask. If it ends up being too far and you didn't ask, it will be on you.
